Rene Boivin Diamond and Gold Double Clip Brooch/Bangle, ca. 1940s
Rene Boivin Diamond and Gold Double Clip Brooch/Bangle, ca. 1940s
René Boivin Diamond and Gold Double Clip Brooch/Bangle, ca. 1940s
A very versatile double clip diamond and yellow gold bangle by René Boivin, ca. 1940s.
It is in 18k gold and platinum and has two gold and old cut diamond clips on the top.
The clips can also be worn as independent double clips.
The total diamond weight is approximately 6 carats.
The design is very eye catching and the bangle beautifully displays the radiancy of a sunburst. Even when the clips are worn individually, they stunningly depict a rising sun. The design, such as the play with gold bows and round diamonds gracing its borders, show the fine craftsmanship and vision, for which pieces by René Boivin are famous for. This jewel also shares the inspiration of an independent and fashionable woman with the design of Boivin's "Barbare" bangle, as depicted in the André Durst's print from 1940. The bangle has a security clasp and the inner diameter is 5.8 cm. The clips are stamped with the French 18k gold and platinum mark, as well as with makers marks of René Boivin. Also accompanied by a certificate from Cailles and Salit.
