A beautiful pin/pedant by Nardi, depicting the Venetian symbol of a hand. The hand is carved very realistically out of blond tortoise shell and is decorated with a small diamond ring on the pinky finger; a movable ruby and diamond bracelet; and a ruby, sapphire and diamond sleeve. The piece can be worn as a pin or as a pendant.

The hand "Manina" is a strong symbol in the Venetian history. It can be followed from the paintings of El Greco to the election of Doge and hence a natural motif for the famous Venetian jeweller Nardi. Signed Nardi, Hallmarked.
